The ideal cooking time for asparagus is 10 minutes. Cook asparagus in a large pan with water and a pinch of salt. After 10 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and let the asparagus cook in the cooking liquid for another 5 to 10 minutes. This way you ensure that your asparagus is perfectly soft before you serve it.
Peeled and cooked asparagus cannot be stored for longer than 1 day in the refrigerator, in the cooled cooking liquid.
